It is probably the first time in Indian cricket history that the BCCI is sending two teams to play a series with different nations in different countries. Soon, the Virat Kohli led team will fly to England to play the WTC final against Newzealand followed by the five-match test series with the English team. This team was a regular team with all coaching staff.
On the other hand, a young Indian team with a few experienced players will leave for Sri Lanka for the limited-over series in July. At the same time, the regular team will start playing a Test series with England. According to the Cricket analysts, either India’s left-hand opener, Shikhar Dhawan or all-rounder Hardik Pandya will lead the team as Captain.
If Shreyas Iyer won’t be injured in the IPL, he may lead the team India in the Sri Lanka tour. Soon, BCCI will select the team for the Lankan tour. The Wall, NCA chief, Rahul Dravid will be the head coach for the team to play the Sri Lanka limited-overs series. India will play three ODIs(13,16,19th July) and 3 T20Is(22-27th July).
